Margaret Dygas asks How Do You Do

Margaret Dygas will release her first solo project, entitled How Do You Do late this month. From her early days clubbing in NYC as a fashion student, to the start of her music career in London in the late 90s, to her current bi-monthly residency at Berlin’s hedonistic Berghain/ Panorama Bar, Margaret’s way has been a spontaneous gentle progression. It was in Berlin that she began producing and writing her own music.

How Do You Do was inspired by the book Peoplewatching, a guide to body language, by British zoologist Desmond Morris. The book was a leaving present from her best friend in England and served as a companion during her first years in Berlin up to the present. The title, an old English greeting, is welcoming but also has a double meaning. The book describes human differences and similarities, cultural and inborn, as well as general human habits. Margaret found herself returning to it again and again, as she grappled with new experiences and relationships. As a controversial writer, Morris’ insights into human nature may not be a rule book, but somehow comforting in cold Berlin winters.
